I am an experienced space holder and celebrant. I can help you create the naming ceremony, wedding or funeral that feels right for you and your family.

Ceremonies and rituals are not limited to these life events, and I also offer support to hold transition ceremonies for birthdays, house moves, miscarriage, abortion, divorce, anniversaries, vow renewals, hen/stag dos, baby showers, death of an animal or anything that you feel needs honouring and marking.

Ceremonies can involve hundreds of people, or two. They can be funny, silly, profound, enlightening, but they often mark a change in state of how we feel.

Working with Charity was an absolute pleasure. She transformed what could have been a stressful process into a fun and joyful experience. She took the time to understand our needs and brought her great grace and skill to the day itself. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We had the absolute privilege of Charity acting as celebrant for our wedding last year and could not recommend her more highly. She brought both gravity and joy to the ceremony, treading the line perfectly and providing exactly the tone we were hoping for. Many guests commented that the ceremony had so successfully foregrounded love in the context of friendship and community, that this then permeated the rest of the wedding for them, which was a beautiful thing to experience.

Whatever ceremony we are doing, I work in a similar way.

We work together to understand all the elements that you want to be incorporated into the ceremony. I ask lots of questions to explore all threads. We throw our creativity net wide to make sure everything is included.

I prepare the structure and script of the ceremony, based on our discussions, and check in to ensure you are happy and any late ideas can be incorporated. We work together on the ‘order of service’ sheet if needed.

The day of the ceremony, I am alongside you co-creating the space with you and all participants.

Afterwards, we have a follow up conversation to help land what happened, and see if anything still needs completing, and I give you a printed copy of the ceremony script.

Faith

I have a strong understanding of the Christian, Buddhist, Quaker and Jewish faiths, an interest in all world religions, and have explored the indigenous land-based spirituality of Britain and around the world. I am very familiar with humanist approaches.

Always my emphasis is on finding inclusive and natural ways of making meaning, for the people who are present. It is my honour and delight to work with you in creating a ceremony that feels just right for you.
